VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR FOR 2021: KEVIN FLEMING

Kevin Fleming was selected as Volunteer of the Year and was honored at the January 2022 Annual Meeting. Kevin was born in Long Beach, California, and attended Cal State Long Beach and the University of Texas earning a Degree in Journalism and a Secondary Teaching Credential. He worked as a technical writer and was a proofreader for Palm Springs Life. As a history buff, Kevin wanted to explore the trail of the old Highway 99. He was told that the Coachella Valley History Museum had information about this topic. Upon visiting the Museum, he also learned that we were in need of volunteers. Kevin immediately signed up and has been a volunteer for two years. Even though he lives in Cathedral City, he travels to Indio three times a week to work as a Docent and in the Archives accessioning materials.
